Woven Bracelet
Woven Bracelet
Made in Fall 2011

This bracelet was made by weaving pieces of metal together and adding colorful beads. I enjoyed doing this project because it was not very time consuming and it was fairly easy to complete after some practice, of course. My favorite part of the bracelet is the end where the large brown bead is woven in as a clasp. The clasp bead really dresses up the bracelet, this could be worn with something casual or more dressy. Some people may choose to give this away as a gift, but I am keeping it for my self because I really like the look of it and again how I can coordinate it to go with a various number of outfits.

Stitch Swatch

Switch Swatch
Made in Fall/ Winter 2011

This project was very time consuming, but very fun at the same time. I created this stitch swatch bracelet by using a needle, thread, beads, a piece of felt and a hard cardboard back. We added beads on the needle and sowed them on by going up through the bottom of the felt. We had to pick some sort of design to create and use a few different kind and size of beads. I chose to use pretty basic colors because I knew by doing that it would turn out the way i wanted it to and match a lot of my outfits. After all the beading and stitching was complete, I cut the outside of the felt that wasn't being used. I cut the felt in the design the beads were in. The last step in creating the swatch was to add a clasp. I used a small amount of thin wire and a button on the other side of the bracelet as an end of the bracelet and a way to close it when I put it on. I put the time that I spent doing this project from fall to winter because like I said it was very time consuming, but also fun and it turned out very good in the end.

Beaded Bracelet
Beaded Bracelet & Necklace
Made in Fall 2011

We were instructed to make a necklace/bracelet of our choice. We could choose what we wanted the project to look like, but we had to have them matching. I chose the brown beads because I like a lot of that color jewelery and all the colors just went together really well. To finish off the necklace and bracelet, I had to make a clasp. I used wire and made a loop on one side and did the same thing on the other side, but it was done a bit differently so that the ends would close. This project was not very time consuming at all and turned out great. I am defiantly planning on keeping this set for myself.

Linked Necklace
Linked Necklace
Made in Fall 2011

This was the first project I ever made in Jewelry. We were instructed to make a necklace with our tools and all the end of the wires had to look the same and neatly done. This necklace was more of an introduction into the class because its just a plain very basic project done in a few class times and most people probably wouldn't wear this unless they ended up adding onto it with color beads and dressing it up a bit. Personally, for me this was the hardest project of the semester. I think it was so difficult for me because it was the first project I ever made and it had to be so perfectly done. It was a good project to warm up and get your feel for jewelry.

Mosaic
Mosaic
Made in Winter 2011/2012

This was by far my favorite project of the semester. I really liked doing this one, it did take a lot of time but it turned out really good. The word "family" was written out first, and then the white pieces were glued inside of the letters. The brown pieces came second, to fill in the outside of the wood board. The last part of the project was to grout, which filled in the empty spaces between the glass pieces. I gave this project to my mom as a christmas gift, but I am planning on doing a few small mosaics as a final project just because I enjoyed doing this one so much.
